Washington Has Lost It's Way

Last night’s vote solidified for me why I founded the Arkansas Tea Party. These people in Washington have lost their way. They have forgotten why America is the greatest nation in the world. They forgot the principles in which our nation is grounded.

Although polls indicate that the majority of American voters oppose the current direction the health care reform legislation is heading, Senator Reid plans to proceed anyway. In the dead of night, the Majority Leader took a major step towards passing this redistribution of wealth legislation. Not only is Senator Reid disregarding the will of the people, he is forcing this legislation during one of the most sacred times of the year.

Senator Reid and his party have forgotten their oath of office, that being to defend the Constitution. Now Senator Reid thinks healthcare is a right.

“It acknowledges, finally, that healthcare is a fundamental right -- a human right -- and not just a privilege for the most fortunate.”

Really? The core of our Constitution is freedom and liberty. Where is the freedom and liberty in wealth redistribution, mandating citizens to buy a private good from a private company and taking control of 1/6 the American economy.

This congress has forgotten the principles in which this country was founded. It's no wonder that the Tea Party Movement is ahead in the polls above other political organizations.

66% of American voters think the government should be smaller yet Sen. Lincoln and 59 other senators say yes to government take over of 1/6 of Americans economy and making a historic power grab.

Thomas Jefferson said it best: "In question of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution."

The insurance mandate in the current health care bill is the first time in American history that the government is mandating that citizens purchase something from a private company and if they do not they are in violation of the law.

All of this is almost surreal. America became the most stable, prosperous and free nation in the world grounded in the root of the Constitution. Now Senator Reid and other want to add rights that take away liberty from the American people.

Either Arkansas senator could have been a voice of the people, yet they decided to be the voice of Washington. I am the only Arkansas candidate who has been fighting this congress from the beginning. We need a new voice in Washington, a voice for the people, grounded in our founding principles and willing to stand up for what is right not only for our State but for our country.

Please join my team today by going to my website. We can restore our country to what it was founded on.

RPA Straw Poll Results

I am satisfied with the results of this weekend’s Republican Party of Arkansas’, Winter Republican Leadership Conference’s, straw poll . We finished where anticipated. I am well aware there is a lot of work to do over the next year. I continue to prepare for the general election one person and one vote at a time. I was pleased to participate in the party’s annual fundraiser and very encouraged by the response from people we talked to about the Tom Cox for Senate Campaign. My participation continued to validate that I am a legitimate and viable candidate for the Arkansas’ Senate seat currently held by Blanche Lincoln.

Additional sample polling continues to reinforce this as evidenced by the Rasmussen poll released this week that again showed Tom Cox beating Blanche Lincoln, the incumbent, in a head to head contest. As a businessman and founder of the Arkansas T.E.A. Party, not a politician, this level of mainstream support is overwhelming and continues to validate the level of dissatisfaction that Arkansas voters have with Senator Lincoln, Washington, and politicians in general.

Sen. Lincoln Puts Washington Ahead of Arkansas

Senator Lincoln announced today she would vote for a measure to move the Reid health care bill forward. Senator Lincoln's decision to vote for the motion to proceed directly goes against the voters of Arkansas. Polls show that 68% of Arkansans said they are against the Reid healthcare bill. So when Sen. Lincoln said today that her number one loyalty was to the people of Arkansas, whom was she referring to?

“Although I don’t agree with everything in this bill, I have concluded that I believe it is more important that we begin this debate to improve our nation’s health care system for all Americans, rather than just simply drop the issue and walk away,” Lincoln said.

Nothing in this bill coincides with Arkansas values. Like Calvin Coleridge said voting against a bad bill is far more important than voting for a good bill.

Arkansas needs a senator that represents Arkansas values, fiscal responsibility and knows who he/she represents. The most important characteristic in a senator is being able to have a strong backbone to put Arkansas before Washington. Senator Lincoln does not possess this characteristic, but Tom Cox does.

Go to Tom Cox 4 Senate and learn more about how you can make a difference and send Sen. Lincoln packing.

There is a business like method to the campaign financing madness. Our campaign has created a comprehensive business plan. Our 3rd quarter fundraising numbers reflect the goals we set in our business plan. The Campaign feels we have a solid foundation for the upcoming fundraising quarter. We will continue to exceed our financial goals due impart to the recent Rasmussen Reports poll numbers released for this race. We are proud to work on a tight budget just like the average American, doing more with less, working harder and smarter than our competition, and relying on common sense to guide us. It is part of our campaign philosophy and the work ethic we will bring to Washington.

Nero fiddled while Rome burnt!

Nero fiddled while Rome burnt! While the president and the legislative bodies continue to fiddle with the healthcare system, something that has room for improvement but is not broken for 90% of America, the economy is burning up with a terrible fever. Our economy is what is sick and in need of urgent care and attention. Families across america are hurting and its not because they can't see a doctor.
We still continue to shed jobs. Small businesses, the chief generator of employment growth, can't access money in one of the tightest credit environments ever seen. And the real unemployment rate is the worse in over 50 years. The economy's condition is serious and in some areas almost terminal and yet the President and VP tell us how they have saved the economy. It reminds me of when Al Gore claimed he created the Internet.
Instead we focus on taxing those who have have "Cadillac" health plans and reducing spending on medicare. This sounds like redistribution to me. How can we take the Democrats seriously on their pet projects when they won't even address tort reform? There are more people unemployed or under employed than there are without access to healthcare. What's the urgent problem? To quote a prominent democrat's words of wisdom...it's the economy stupid. Repeat after me, jobs, jobs, jobs!
