Sen. Lincoln Puts Washington Ahead of Arkansas

Senator Lincoln announced today she would vote for a measure to move the Reid health care bill forward. Senator Lincoln's decision to vote for the motion to proceed directly goes against the voters of Arkansas. Polls show that 68% of Arkansans said they are against the Reid healthcare bill. So when Sen. Lincoln said today that her number one loyalty was to the people of Arkansas, whom was she referring to?

“Although I don’t agree with everything in this bill, I have concluded that I believe it is more important that we begin this debate to improve our nation’s health care system for all Americans, rather than just simply drop the issue and walk away,” Lincoln said.

Nothing in this bill coincides with Arkansas values. Like Calvin Coleridge said voting against a bad bill is far more important than voting for a good bill.

Arkansas needs a senator that represents Arkansas values, fiscal responsibility and knows who he/she represents. The most important characteristic in a senator is being able to have a strong backbone to put Arkansas before Washington. Senator Lincoln does not possess this characteristic, but Tom Cox does.
